Using custom profile fields, Company Administrators can tailor members' profiles to include any information that could potentially be needed by other members.
Frequently used custom profile fields include:
- Location
- Training or Certification(s)
- Territory
- Twitter ID

Employees can maintain and update information as needed. Since members have the ability to edit their profiles fields, the burden of maintenance is switched from administrator to employee.
Adding custom profile fields
To add a custom profile field:
- Go to the company admin menu (gear icon in the top right) and select Company Setup > Custom Fields > User Profile
- Click Add Custom Profile Fields and enter the following information:
- Field Name
- API ID
- Field Type
- Default Value
- Is this a Required Field?
- Click Create Field
All custom profile fields will appear in each members' profile.

Locked fields
Locked fields prevent non-company administrators from updating certain fields in their Profiles. Only Company Administrators or the API can update these fields.
To lock profile fields, navigate to the company admin menu (gear icon in the top right) and select Company Setup > Custom Fields > Locked Fields, check the box for the desired locked fields, and click Save.
